| Kara is owner of the CNETCanada Ltd. Group. She is currently studying to achieve her Certified Internet Webmaster certification (CIW) and is a member of the HTML Writers Guild, the International Webmasters Association and the SearchEngine Watch. With a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary in Political Science, Kara Tersen started her career with the national office of a federal political party. There, she managed the membership services department and discovered early on a proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems. She went on to work with a federal Member of Parliament as Constituency Office Manager, managing the office, and working on behalf of the constituents in the area. Kara's career continued in administrative and graphic design services in the health and dental insurance industry, a human resources and training firm, and with a national drugstore (regional office). With a desire to provide more computer-based services, she became a computer-applications instructor, and then worked with a pharmacy and retail software company, providing training, hardware and software support to its client base. Kara has been an active member of the community as a public-relations volunteer during Calgary's 1988 Winter Olympic Games, the Calgary 2005 Expo Bid and a variety of other community activities. | Stephen entered into the world of computers after receiving a certificate in Electronic Fundamentals in 1972 and a Degree in Computer Sciences in 1976. He was first employed by an electronic design company in Toronto where during his 12-year career he worked on a number of leading-edge projects for the US Military, IBM and other international companies. He not only helped to develop, but also worked on a number of state-of-the-art computer systems for companies such as Data General, IBM, Sperry Univac and others. Early in 1988, Stephen left to work with companies that were dealing with the then emerging world of personal computers. He received his Macintosh Support Professional designation from Apple Computers in 1988 and began to work closely with the printing and publishing industry. During this time he was involved with training and providing technical support for such products as QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and the Macromedia software. In 1994 Stephen received his Accredited Desktop Specialist designation from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Stephen was also responsible for developing and supporting a number of specialized products for the graphics & printing industry as well as working closely with companies such as Howtek, Crossfield, Kodak, Canon and Fuji Graphics to develop and maintain their product support base. Prior to becoming an independent contractor and starting CNETCanada Ltd., Stephen worked as a contract systems administrator for a number of small and medium sized companies across Canada. He completed his Microsoft Certification in 1998 and is now a partner in the CNETCanada Ltd. Group, providing computer support for small and medium businesses, as well as home users. |
